Woodriver Bandits was founded in the year 1993 as a project of Brad Corrigan, who was a student at the Middlebury College in Vermont. After Tape 1993 was recorded Brad was informed by a friend that someone at his school played guitar very well and suggested he meet Pete Heimbold. They then jammed together and Pete joined the band.
They played in that formation the whole spring and summer 1995. In the end of the summer, they recorded the EP Little Hannah. Around the same time, Pete had already been in contact with Chad Urmston and their band Hermit Thrush. Pete introduced Brad to Chad and eventually Chad joined in for some sessions and even recorded the track Remake Me from The Power Of The Self Soundtrack.
Shortly after, both bands disbanded and the three created the band One Fell Swoop later changing it to Dispatch, whom garnered a large following and disbanded in 2002. After Dispatch broke up Chad started State Radio, Pete went solo under the name Pete Francis and Brad went solo under the name Braddigan.
